Fort Assiniboine Public Library

Woodlands County is a member of Yellowhead Regional Library. Fort Assiniboine Public Library is also a member of The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) and of The Alberta Library (TAL). Our participation in The Alberta Library gives our patrons access to 15 million items in over 230 Alberta libraries.

Residents of Woodlands County (including the Hamlets of Fort Assiniboine, Blue Ridge and Lone Pine) may acquire a library card provided with proper identification.

Our History

The Fort Assiniboine Public Library is a school-housed public library. The present-day library was constructed in 1988. Prior to this new construction, the library was the size of a regular classroom and public patrons had to walk through the school to get to it.

This new library was designed with a separate public entrance and large windows, creating a nice bright area for visitors/staff to relax or work.
